The CAEI Consortium reiterated its environmental commitment by actively participating in the International Coastal Cleanup Day.  CAEI employees from different departments volunteered to clean the Caribe Beach in the municipality of Guayacanes, San Pedro de Macorís.

The International Coastal Cleanup Day initiative is coordinated at the national level by the Ministry of the Environment.  At the local level, CAEI participated through the Multisectoral Coalition for the Conservation of the Higüamo River Basin.  The company serves as the secretariat of the Board of Directors of the coalition.

Gabriel Argüello, Director of Quality and Environment at the CAEI Consortium, led the initiative and thanked those present for their spirit of collaboration. “This collective effort to clean our coasts is a message of high value for future generations.  I encourage you to continue doing your bit to ensure an environmentally sustainable country", added Argüello.

Yadette Jiménez, coordinator of CAEI’s Integrated Management System, briefed all volunteers on what to do to to ensure the effort is successful and there is a clean beach for the community to enjoy.  Jiménez is CAEI’s representative for the Multisectorial Coalition for the Conservation of the Higüamo River Basin and is in charge of coordinating the final disposal of collected waste during the coastal cleanup.
