CAC and FCB fund batey beautification

The Central Sugar Consortium (CAC), through its social arm, the Central Barahona Foundation (FCB), donated one million five hundred thousand pesos towards the renovation and beautification of the entrance of Batey 5, a community where the company’s operations center is also located.

The funds were delivered to Father Quiterio Galvá, priest of the San Martín de Porres Church, and to Pastor Victoria Ramírez, who received the check for the project to beautify the entrance, in an event held on the main road of the community.

Also present were Melania Salvador, Senator; Juana Mateo, Governor; Luis Eduardo Andrés José, director of the El Palmar District Board; and Beneco Enecia, director of the Center for Sustainable Development.  Community members from Batey 5 were also present.

By providing these funds, the sugar company and its foundation hope to contribute to improving the lives of the inhabitants in this area and raising the well-being of all those who live in Batey 5.  In addition, the beautification of the entrance will have a positive mental and social impact on people passing daily on this road, which also provides access to other important communities in the sugarcane zone.

The CAC, through its foundation, carries out initiatives to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the communities where it has a presence, thus highlighting its commitment to the development of the Enriquillo Region.
